Building Stronger Communities through Nutrition
SCSA-SUN was founded in 2019 in Somalia as a movement of Somali Civil Society Organizations alliance as the result of the needs for a multi-stakeholder response to addressing the nutrition challenge in Somalia through the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement and as well to raise the nutrition agenda on the national development plan of the federal government of Somalia.

What We Do
Somalia has demonstrated significant progress in addressing food and nutrition challenges. From 2004 to 2021, the government of Somalia enacted the National Nutrition Strategy and National Nutrition Program. Key nutrition coordination platforms, the Nutrition Coordinating Body, and the Nutrition Technical Committee, were effectively established in 2019 at various levels. In In May 2014, the government also joined the Global Scaling-Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement.

Strategic Plan
SUN-SCSA Prioritizes the fight against hunger, with emphasis on Children, Women and the elderly people,
Strengthen and sustain strong policy and advocacy environments at the national, regional to position nutrition outcomes as a key maker and marker of sustainable development.
Build and strengthen country capacity to develop, prioritize, finance, implement and track country actions through strengthened technical assistance and knowledge management.
Ensure governance of SUN-SCSA that promotes leadership and responsibilities of government, aligns the resources of all stakeholders behind country priorities, strengthens mutual accountability between stakeholders and to those most at risk of malnutrition, with robust mechanism encourage and ensure such promotion, alignment and mutual accountability is realised. In fragile and conflict-affected state, where the government may be unwilling or unable to lead, SUN-SCSA shall work together in collaboration withSUN-SCSA, humanitarian actors and include them in any multi-stakeholder platforms.
It is essential to focus on eradicating poverty and hunger, by strengthening support for production.
